Please see the following on how to configure Dreamweaver for FTP:
- Select Site > Manage Sites.
- Click New to set up a new site, or select an existing Dreamweaver site and click the edit icon.
- In the Site Setup dialog box, select the Servers category and do one of the following:
- Click the Add New Server button to add a new server.
Or: Select an existing server and click the Edit Existing Server button. - In the Server Name text box, specify a name for the new server. This can be something like “The Marksystem Server”
- Select FTP from the Connect Using pop-up menu.
- In the FTP Address text box, enter your FTP hostname (usually ftp.your-domain-name.ie or the IP address from your welcome email)
- In the Username and Password text boxes, enter the FTP username and password found in your welcome email (generally the same as your cPanel user/pass)
- Click to test these details
- In the root directory space, enter “public_html”. This is the directory which already exists on the server where your website files must be placed.
- In the Web URL text box enter the URL of your website (for example, http://www.your-domain-name.ie). Dreamweaver uses the Web URL to create site root-relative links, and to verify links when you use the link checker.
Your new website should be ready to upload via Dreamweaver.
